Recipe: Anna's Easter Schwarties Hash Browns

Recipe: Anna's Easter Schwarties Hash Browns

Posted by Anna Heyd on

Modifying holiday gatherings is something that we’re all used to doing by now. Switching from the mindset of cooking for a large group of friends and family to sticking to a household can be tricky when it comes to downsizing those familiar comfort food recipes that are ideal for entertaining.

Luckily, one of my favourite Easter dishes keeps incredibly well and is perfect as leftovers. Along with making my meal planning for the week easy, cooking this familiar dish (that my family makes for every holiday gathering) helps me feel closer to my loved ones who I’ve been apart from for so long. Plus, it’s super easy. Need I say more?

Schwarties Hash Browns

2 LBS Frozen Hash browns
1 500 ml Carton Sour Cream
2 Tins Cream of Mushroom Soup
¼ Cup Melted Butter
Grated Onion and Salt to Taste
2 Cups Grated Cheddar Cheese
Sprinkle of Parmesan Cheese

Thaw potatoes slightly for easier mixing.
Mix first 6 ingredients in a 9’’ x 13’’ baking dish
Sprinkle parm on top.
Bake at 350 for 1 - 1 ½ hours
